Join Norway's Next AI Success Story
tigercity.ai is an AI startup based in Oslo, Norway, solving the fundamental problem that's holding back the AI revolution.
What is the problem?
It's been 2.5 years since ChatGPT launched, yet we're still waiting for the AI agent revolution. The numbers tell the story: a recent MIT study shows that 95% of organizations get zero return on their AI investment, despite $30-40 billion in enterprise spending. The report also identifies the key problem:
"The core barrier to scaling is not infrastructure, regulation, or talent. It is learning. Most GenAI systems do not retain feedback, adapt to context, or improve over time."
(MIT: The GenAI Divide - State of AI IN business 2025, p.3)While the world expected AI agents to transform how we work, most attempts have failed. The reason is simple: current AI models can't learn. They make the same mistakes over and over again, showing the same blind spots, failing in predictable ways. We're building agents without the ability to learn and adapt—without this capability, even the most sophisticated AI remains fundamentally limited.

Okay - So you have a better way to do this... right?
Yes, we've built the first platform that makes LLM fine-tuning simple, enabling developers worldwide to create AI agents that actually learn from experience. Our technology makes it possible to build adaptive agents that get smarter with every interaction—just like training a human, which is impossible with fixed-weight models.
Oh - But training LLMs sounds so complicated?
While training LLMs may sound complicated, it's NOT. In fact, it's so much easier and more reliable than traditional prompting—and faster, and far less frustrating to work with.
Watch the video below and see for yourself just how easy it is.

In this video I'll show you how easy it is to build AI Agents using the tigercity.ai playground.
But how in the world will you make money?
Largely through a token-based pricing model. You pay for training tokens, input tokens, and output tokens. Similar to OpenAI's model with competitive rates and, of course, with online training (which OpenAI lacks).
Initially, a prepaid credit system, so you pay in advance—so our customers don't get any nasty surprises when the bill comes. When you run out of credit, the system stops working until you add more money to your account. This eliminates the need for handling bad debt, etc.
This gives us revenue upfront which we can use to buy the GPUs we need to meet demand. We can scale with growing demand without requiring so much capital.
Alternatively, a subscription model can be considered at a later date. These are relatively popular, but have their downsides as well. The infrequent users subsidize the super users.

What is already built?
We have spent the last 2.5 years building this platform from the ground up. The following things are already built:
Complete API suite
Both inference and training endpoints in one platform
Continuous learning, continuous deployment
Your models stay live while training happens seamlessly in the background
Interactive playground
Perfect for prototyping and testing your agents
Zero technical complexity
No low-level ML expertise required
What remains
The technical side of things is more or less under control—most, apart from scaling.
Scaling
We do not yet support multiple concurrent users. We need to transition into a microservices architecture.
Commercialize the product.

Who are "we" exactly?
At this point, tigercity.ai is just Erlend Grønnevet and a couple of very helpful chatbots. Erlend holds a Master's in AI from NTNU and has spent the last 2.5 years building this platform from the ground up. With over four decades of programming experience, he's passionate about making AI training accessible to everyone.
Values? TLDR: We love AI, hate the hype
We’re a Norwegian company, which means democracy, human rights, and truth are non‑negotiable.
We love AI, but we hate the hype. The industry is full of inflated claims and magic promises that mislead customers and frustrate developers. That’s why we commit to radical honesty about what our models can and cannot do. We’ll never oversell or mislead—only give the straight truth about capabilities, limitations, and realistic expectations.
This approach helps our customers plan with clarity and build solutions that deliver real value to real people, instead of wasting resources on empty hype.
We also believe in supporting open‑source solutions, because transparency and shared innovation make AI safer, stronger, and more accessible. And we stand firmly by free competition, because progress comes from healthy markets where the best ideas—not monopolies—win.
Most importantly, we respect your privacy. You retain complete ownership of your data, intellectual property, and trained models. We will never claim ownership over your work or use your data in ways you haven’t explicitly agreed to.
This is the Norwegian approach to business: direct, honest, and focused on long‑term relationships over short‑term profits. It’s also exactly what the AI industry needs right now.
